Most of you reading this probably know what Dinos Soccer 4 Hope is all about, but here is a quick refresher: The women's soccer team at the University of Calgary has partnered with a non-profit organization called Soccer 4 Hope. Their mission is to use soccer to enhance the life skills of girls between the ages of 12 and 16. Nine Dinos players are traveling to Cape Town, South Africa for two weeks to work with the organization.
We embarked on a fundraising campaign seven months ago - it has been a lot of work but the support we have received from family and friends has been tremendous. Four hundred and fifty pounds of soccer gear will make the trip with us, and end up at each of the 37 schools affiliated with Soccer 4 Hope.
During our two weeks in Cape Town will do our best to blog every night to share our experiences with all the wonderful people who have helped us make this trip a reality.
